This question is recommended for ages over 35: In the late 1970's and early 1980's one of our number left the profession to become A STAND-UP COMIC on television. Although his career was relatively short, because of his untimely death, his name may not be a household word, however, his humor often related to the days of being a professional musician/hornist. Whenever he was interviewed on television and allowed latitude to talk about his previous life, he was most commending and often agreed with the famous author George Plimpton about the horrors and nervousness of a musician's/hornists life. He was a regular guest on late night talk shows, participated in many game shows (In my opinion was the only funny man) and did some acting such as, I think, a Love Boat," or similar stuff. I am certain, had he lived longer he would have been one of the most popular comics around New York and Hollywood. I would estimate that he was in his middle to late 30's when he began his second career and may have played in Detroit. I honestly cannot remember for sure. Is that all one sentence? No matter-WHAT WAS HIS NAME? [If you are desperate, think of a rising comic with telltale leukoplakia on his lips]
