This horn was the personal favorite of Lowell Greer, and used by him during one of the busiest parts of his career. It is a copy of Gautrot, Paris, circa 1825. The price is for the horn corpus only, as many players already have crooks, or only need a few keys. The bell is garlanded, with an enamelled interior, and a wonderful gilded design by Dominican artist Luis Gonzalo Encarnacion. Interested parties may request fotos, as the work on the horn is quite fine. Those wanting to order appropriate historical crooks may choose from three different sets; 1) Covent Garden ($800), comprising a G master with three couplers for F, E, and Eb, which yield D and C when used in pairs, 2) the Dresden set ($1300), comprising Bb, A, and G, with 4 couplers, yielding all keys, and 3)the Belgian set ($1400), comprising Bb, A, F, Eb, plus 2 couplers yielding all keys. These crooks can be had with historical tapers copied after L J Raoux, M A Raoux, Millereau, A Courtois, Gautrot, and a modern derivative taper.
